My bike has saved my life during the lockdown. If not my life then certainly my health and wellbeing.
It has provided my daily exercise and encouragement to venture out whatever the weather.
I’ve visited buildings that I’ve been meaning to see for a while including life affirming housing by Peter Barber and Karakusevic Carson. And innovative designs from Amin Taha.
I’ve also been cycling round some social housing such as the De Beauvoir estate in Hackney.
This pandemic really highlights the terrible inequalities in housing conditions and public space allocation.
My bike has given me the opportunity to ponder how we can and resolve to do better.
