The Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects (‘WCCA’ or the ‘Company’) is seeking a new Clerk and an Assistant Clerk to manage and develop this dynamic livery company, working in close partnership with the Court and Livery members.
The WCCA is a modern livery company of the City of London, founded in 1985 and granted livery status in 1988. The Company is growing and currently has 240 members, including liverymen, freemen and students. A passion about great architecture and London, with an interest in the protocols of the City Livery would all be beneficial. The Company is implementing a five-year Strategic Plan to greatly increase the membership and impact of the Company and the new Clerk will be instrumental in achieving these exciting goals.
The Clerk will be an excellent organiser, highly professional and an engaging ambassador for the Company. This Clerk’s role is a part-time role, equivalent to about 3 working days per week, but with varied and additional commitments throughout the year depending on the Company’s annual cycle and calendar of activities. There is also a new post for a p/t Assistant to the Clerk (see below), which will be formalised following the successful appointment of the Clerk.
Assistant Clerk’s Role:
The Company is seeking a part-time (1day/week) Assistant Clerk to support the Company’s Clerk and to manage the Company’s finances and accounts, as well as to manage the Company’s proposed new premises at Temple Bar (1day/week). The Assistant Clerk will be a skilled organiser and financial accountant/book-keeper with excellent IT skills. A passion about great architecture and London, with an interest in the City Livery and living close to the City of London, would all be beneficial.
